4:15 - 5:15 pm PILATES - with Adina Maria Duta |
PILATES, created by Joseph Pilates over 90 years ago, is a an exercise
modality consisting of stretching and strengthening exercises designed to
re-pattern and re-educate the body via the nervous system. Adina Maria Duta,
teacher and owner of The Pilates Advantage Studio, will demonstrate an
introductory level of Stott Pilates.

5:30 - 6:30 pm NIA TECHNIQUE - with MaryLynn Baran |
NIA TECHNIQUE with MaryLynn Baran of Turning Leaf Yoga Centre and members of
NIAC. NIA is a high-powered energizing workout. It is the only
internationally recognized exercise technique combining the martial arts,
the dance arts and the healing arts. "If you can walk, you can do Nia."

6:45 - 7:30 pm THE MITZVAH TECHNIQUE (MT) - with Monica Burr |
Mitzvah exercises
are based on sitting, standing and walking and can help your spine lengthen,
release tension and restore balance, flexibility and coordination. Monica
Burr has been teaching the MT in Toronto for 10 years and will be
demonstrating this easy and effective movement therapy.

DANCE OF THE CHAKRAS with Barbara Sauvé, and music by Luciano Porto. The
Dance of the Chakras is a unique movement meditation that takes us into the
energy of each Chakra through guided gentle movement and visualization. From
that place deep inside ourselves, our energy can then flow out into physical
expression (dance) and/or meditation. As we enjoy the pleasure and freedom
of allowing the body to find its own natural movements, we will be
accompanied by live "Chakra" music.

CHAIR YOGA with Deborah Rubin of Rubinesq Yoga and Yoga Spirit. In this
informative, interactive session, participants will experience the main
benefits of Yoga with sitting and standing postures using a chair. Chair
Yoga is designed for people with time, space, and physical restrictions.

2:15 - 3:00 pm HATHA YOGA - with PK Gosh |
Hatha Yoga is known as the Yoga of Postures or the "forceful" Yoga as it requires much physical effort. It is one of the most popular and well known branches of Yoga and is where most styles originated. This interactive yoga demonstration will be led by PK Gosh, certified Yoga Instructor (World Yoga Society, Calcutta, India). PK has been involved with the practise of Yoga his whole life. He has been teaching in Toronto since 1998 at various locations for the YMCA, and the Sports Clubs of Canada.

VINYASA YOGA with Cynthia Flood, owner and director of Turning Leaf Yoga
Centre in Newmarket. Vinyasa, meaning, "flow", is a rhythmic and dynamic
yoga practice that is motivated and sustained by the breath. It can be
adapted to any skill level. Cynthia Flood will lead a group of students in a
demonstration of Vinyasa II.

THAI MASSAGE with Deanna Villa, owner and teacher of Thai Massage Toronto.
Thai Massage is an ancient bodywork technique with its roots in yogic
tradition. Choreographed routines set to music using stretches and pressure
point techniques will melt the stress away.

TAI CHI. This unique demonstration presented by Classical Martial Arts
Canada (CMAC) illustrates the ancient principles of Tai Chi Chuan the
grand ultimate fist. This ancient system, used to cultivate and direct one¹s
intrinsic energy, or life force, is key to lasting health and balanced
living. Featuring examples of other internal martial arts, such as Ba Gwa
Chang and Chi Gung, this presentation demonstrates how people have thrived
by adapting to the changes in energy that we experience everyday. Classical
Martial Arts Canada is the leading national representative for practice of
these arts in Canada, sharing exchanges and training with the Taoist monks
of Wudang Shan, China, birthplace of Tai Chi Chuan.
